Not All Feminist Narratives Empower, In Fact, Some Destroy

There are so many forms of feminism out there it can easily make your head spin. What exactly is destructive feminism and why does it matter?

BY TERESA YANAROS, MAY 10, 2021

Women, your identity is under attack from all sides. Lies are being thrown at you with respect to your personal, relational, cultural, and spiritual identities. Welcome to our media-saturated culture filled with traps. But take heart, there's a way to retain your sovereignty as you traverse this tumultuously propagandized world.

A Narrative: a story we believe and so incorporate into our worldview and lifestyle.

What is the cost if the narrative happens to be destructive?

Narratives That Seek to Destroy

The political narratives of radical feminism, post-modernism, Marxism, and the patriarchy distort women's ability to find actual true empowerment as a woman. Cultural narratives of prostitution, pornography, abortion, and destructive feministic pop music are increasing in acceptance and prominence in society and further denigrate women's identities. Destructive feminist ideation leads to vainglory, wrath, lust, and greed.

Today we are taking a deeper look into the destructive nature of radical feminism.

Radical feminism began in the 1960s with a mission to radically change all social and economic aspects of society, which they claim is completely ruled by men. Radical feminists view the world as foundationally dominated by white male supremacists and seek to overcome this oppression by rejecting ideas of gender and sex, which they claim are solely cultural institutions.

This perspective evokes misandry, or hatred toward men, because it establishes women as victims of men regardless of actual direct circumstances and develops an attitude of animosity by women toward 49 percent of the population. Radical feminism, in many ways, leads to anti-women ideology.

“Men are losing their reverence for women because feminist ideology promotes the culture of anti-male nihilism through the feminization of men.”
- SG Cheah

Let's Get Real.

In truth, humanity’s battle is not against men or women but against evil forces of darkness. Humans have a sin problem in this world that can only be resolved by salvation through Christ and subsequently leading thoughts captive into the obedience of him during the process of sanctification. Christians are called to love God with everything they are and to selflessly love one another.

Proverbs 18:19 states:

A brother offended is more unyielding than a strong city, and quarreling is like the bars of a castle.
- Proverbs 18:19

When pointing fingers and finding reasons to be offended, there is hardly any consciousness left to spend on loving one another.

Forgiveness from the past and leaning into how to be like Christ and walk with him leads to loving thoughts and ways. Through creating new patterns of love, humans can break the cycle of imprisonment to negativity and fighting.
